During the state of hypnosis the subconscious part of the mind becomes more receptive, whilst the conscious or critical part of the mind becomes less controlling. Every thought produces a feeling - physical, mental or emotional. For example, perhaps there is a certain smell that immediately triggers a memory from your past, or a memory of a particular food that makes your mouth water. Habits get deeply instilled in the subconscious which is why they are difficult to break. You may be able to rationalise about the dangers of cigarette smoking for example, but at the same time be unable to break the habit. Hypnotherapy can help to break the cycle of habits or unwanted reactions by creating new patterns in the subconscious.
Hypnotherapy is widely recognised as one of the most successful therapies for treating a wide range of issues. It was formally recognised by the British Medical Association in 1955 and is used in a number of clinical settings. At Anne Widdup Hypnotherapy, I provide hypnotherapy for all ages including
children and teenagers. I am based in Northamptonshire. Call me today to book an appointment!
